Hooray it's storming and snowing!
Now I can finally take advantage of the opportunities that I have neglected in good weather :)
What would winter be without days when it storms and snows? On such occasional days, there are plenty of opportunities on the Kristberg, in the Silbertal and the surrounding area. Here are some suggestions for you.
The mining history of the Montafon
The miners' chapel of St. Agatha is the oldest church in the Montafon and owes its existence to mining. Other contemporary witnesses are the "Unglücksstollen", which is still clearly visible in the church, the Bruderhüsli in the Dalaaser forest and the historic Bartholomäberg mine. The Montafon-Klostertal mining area was once the largest in the entire province of Vorarlberg.

The Aktivpark in Schruns-Tschagguns is a covered ice-cream world.
Montafon Mining Museum
The Montafon Mining Museum is located in the Silbertal municipal office and presents the history of mining in the Montafon up to the present day. The focus is on a show tunnel with mine shunt, miners' documents, historical photos, traditional tools and numerous ores.
Museum of local history in Schruns
The local history museum in Schruns offers a very good overview of the cultural history of the Montafon. From traditional Montafon costumes to a classroom, there is plenty of variety.
Alpine and Tourism Museum
The tourism museum in Gaschurn is located in the old Frühmesshaus and has been in existence since 1992. For 17 years, the history of tourism was presented here, but since 2009 the building has been reoriented. Based on the impressive simplicity and beauty of the architecture of the old Walser house and its prominent resident Franz Josef Battlogg (1836-1900), the building will in future focus on Alpine history.

Power plant tour
Power plant tour In Latschau, above Tschagguns, a showroom in the largest pump storage plant is open all day and offers an insight into the tunnel system and power plant of Vorarlberger Illwerke.

Montafon natural hazards action area
As part of the project "Montafon Natural Hazards Action Space" project an action space with an exhibition and educational program on the topic of natural hazards in the Montafon was set up.
Ski jumping center Montafon Nordic
The ski jumping facility was opened in 2014 and comprises four ski jumps (HS22, HS40, HS66 and HS108). The facility is therefore designed for training and competitions for all ages, from beginners to World Cup athletes. Guided tours possible by appointment.
VAL Blue adventure pool
The VAL Blue adventure pool offers bathing fun for the whole family.
Excursion to Feldkirch
In addition to its beautiful old town, Feldkirch also offers the opportunity to visit the Schattenburg (old castle with castle museum) or the Vorarlberg Wildlife Park, where you can experience alpine animals such as wild boar, ibex, roe deer, deer, chamois, wolves, eagles, ... up close and personal.
