Whether you choose the marathon, T33 or Panorama Trail, here you are not only running against the clock, but above all for the experience.

9 tips for trail running newbies

  1. Start
    Approach the new challenge step by step. Start with short laps in the valley to get used to the uneven ground.
  2. Speed
    Trail running requires increased concentration and coordination. Adapt your pace to the nature of the trail and your physical condition.
  3. Running uphill
    Take small steps and walk steep sections if necessary. Use your arms to support yourself on your thighs or use poles for support.
  4. Downhill running
    Run with foresight and pay attention to where you want to step. Put your middle or front foot on the ground to protect your joints.
  5. Training
    Get a sports medical check-up and draw up an individual training plan together with an expert. Also get tips on nutrition and recovery.
  6. Tour planning
    Determine your tour goals in advance and take into account the weather, catering options, fitness level and experience factor.
  7. Equipment & food
    A trail running backpack is worthwhile. It fits close to the body and offers space for approx. 1 liter of liquid, gel, energy bar, windbreaker, overtrousers, whistle and a first aid kit.
  8. Shoes
    Have a foot and running analysis carried out at a sports retailer to find the right trail running shoe for you.
  9. Have fun
    Enjoy running in the great outdoors and discover new trails!
