It is the landmark of the Vandans Steinwand and, at 2,643 metres, its unmissable highlight: the Zimba – one of the most beautiful peaks in the Rätikon. Gustl Wolf remembers his first ascent via the challenging east ridge well – he was 16 years old at the time. Since then, he has reached the summit hundreds of times, many times as a mountain guide. ‘Every tour is unique – especially when you share the enthusiasm,’ he says.
At the top, you are rewarded with a magnificent view. ‘On clear days, you can even see sailing boats on Lake Constance,’ Gustl reveals with a smile.
