Over millions of years, a wide variety of rock types have formed here in a small area, shaping the landscape and the interplay of climate, vegetation and wildlife. Hiking trails lead you through this contrasting nature, where each formation tells its own story - like pieces of a mosaic that form the unique overall picture of the Montafon.
36 themed trails await you in the Alpenmosaik Montafon (Alpine mosaic), spread across the Verwall, Silvretta, Rätikon and Tal experience spaces. They tell the story of the region and shed light on the Montafon cultural landscape. Each themed trail starts at one of 16 starting points, which offer additional hiking recommendations and information.
In addition to the themed trails, the Verwall, Silvretta and Rätikon adventure areas each have a long-distance hiking trail, divided into stages. Whether it's a multi-day tour from hut to hut or individual sections - you'll find your perfect mountain experience here.

The main protagonists of the Alpine mosaic Montafon are the four very different landscapes of the Montafon itself - the Verwall, the Silvretta, the Rätikon and the valley. Amrei, a young woman from Montafon, loses her inner direction after the death of her Eni. Against all expectations, she sets off on a hike through her homeland - unaware that this journey will change her view of life. Nature becomes both a teacher and a challenge, until she almost gives up below Piz Buin.
Amreis' story tells of the diversity of the Montafon and of a generation searching for its place between tradition and its own dreams.
