The Silvretta, an impressive high mountain range with over 60 three-thousand-metre peaks and numerous glaciers, borders the Verwall to the south - hence the name "Blue Silvretta". Alpinists in particular appreciate the challenge of the rugged peaks, especially Piz Buin (3,312 m), the alpine landmark of Vorarlberg. This is where alpinism in the Montafon began, with mountain huts as the starting point for high mountain tours. The development of the Silvretta High Alpine Road later opened up the area to those seeking recreation.

Silvretta adventure area - up high and to your limits
The Silvretta challenges you - here you can push yourself to your limits. But don't worry, this adventure area is accessible and in harmony with nature.
As soon as you immerse yourself in the high alpine scenery, you will forget everything around you and feel a thirst for action. The challenging trails pay off - this is exactly the kind of experience you will remember. The Silvretta fascinates with majestic panoramas and challenges that will make you proud.
This adventure area belongs only to itself and challenges adventurers and those who like to push their limits with rocks, ice and snow. With its three-thousand-metre peaks and famous glaciers such as the Ochsental glacier below Piz Buins, the dominant high mountains on the border with Switzerland and Tyrol look like an impressive film set.
... means: glaciers, barren rocks, no vegetation. On this long-distance hiking trail, you can experience all the characteristics of the inhospitable and imposing Silvretta. In three stages, the trail leads from the Bielerhöhe past the highest mountains in Vorarlberg and over into Switzerland to the tongue of the Silvretta glacier. The route leads through the Klostertal valley back to Lake Silvretta.
You probably already have one of the highest peaks in the Silvretta, the Piz Buin, in your tour book. I'd rather give you an insider tip: The Hohe Rad may not be a three-thousand-meter peak, but it is at least as beautiful and much more remote.
The journey is also spectacular - the Silvretta High Alpine Road leads from Partenen up to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe in 34 hairpin bends. The view from Lake Silvretta is unique, you absolutely have to go there.
